Today, about 33 out of every 1,000 births are twins, with only three to four of those being identical twins. That\u2019s already rare.<\/p>\n<p>But what happened to 23-year-old Savannah Combs of Middleburg, Florida, was even more extraordinary. She found out she was pregnant with identical twin girls\u2014and then came even rarer news: both of her babies had Down syndrome.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\u201cIt\u2019s very rare what they have, but they\u2019ve been my little gems,\u201d Savannah told News4JAX.<\/div>\n<p>Despite the emotional weight of the diagnosis and knowing the world can be judgmental, Savannah and her husband, Justin Ackerman, chose love, hope, and resilience.
